Our Story
Keila-Joa Castle is a place where history meets vision. From its origins as a 17th-century manor through its 19th-century cultural and social heyday, the castle has always been a symbol of elegance, refinement, and prestige. Its grand opening in 1833, attended by distinguished guests brought by Tsar Nicholas I, marked the beginning of an era when Keila-Joa became the social and cultural pinnacle of Northern Estonia.

After decades of neglect, the castle faced an uncertain future—until two families with a shared passion for history, architecture, and beauty took on the ambitious challenge of restoring it. From 2010 onwards, they poured their knowledge, creativity, and dedication into reviving the castle: carefully restoring its historic halls, interiors, and furniture; reimagining its gardens; and creating a new rose garden that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Every detail—from architecture and interior design to landscaping and aesthetics—was thoughtfully considered to honor the castle’s heritage while giving it a fresh, vibrant life.

Since 2013, Keila-Joa Castle has welcomed guests for exclusive events, accommodation, and cultural experiences. It hosts state visits, diplomatic receptions, and ceremonies attended by crowned heads and presidents. Since 2017, it proudly houses the Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Estonia. Today, every corner of the castle reflects a careful balance of history and modern vision, offering visitors an unforgettable journey through time and elegance.

We warmly invite you to visit Keila-Joa Castle and experience its beauty, history, and unforgettable atmosphere firsthand.
